The Vocation Journey
The term “Vocation” is derived from the Latin word “vocare,” meaning “to call.” It signifies a unique and personal summons to holiness—a distinctive calling for each individual to practice sacrificial love for God and others.
If you are open to exploring a vocation within our Community, the answer can only be found through prayer and reflection during the discernment phase. The primary qualification you need is a genuine desire to follow God's will. The first step is to contact our Community so we can provide you with an opportunity to spend a few days with us and familiarize yourself with our lifestyle and charism. We will offer you necessary support and guidance along the way.
Postulancy
The Postulancy, the initial phase of discernment, can last up to six months. It serves as a comprehensive introduction to life within the Canons Regular of St. Augustine of the Congregation of Windesheim, allowing you to engage in daily prayer and work.
Novitiate
The Novitiate, a significant year-long period, is designed to help determine if the Novice genuinely has a vocation to the Community. During this time, the Novice becomes deeply involved in daily work, studies the constitutions, learns about spirituality, and participates in the Community’s prayer practices.
Temporary Vows
After a one-year novitiate, a candidate makes his temporary vows for three years. The candidate will receive the white Roman cassock with the black mozzetta. During this stage, the candidate will begin his studies. Following guidelines set by the Holy See, he will receive formation in human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral areas, all centered around the Holy Eucharist, with an emphasis on daily Mass and the Divine Office. Regular spiritual direction and sacramental confession are encouraged to nurture a steadfast commitment to a life of sacrifice and service as a priest.
Eternal Vows
After completing three years under the Temporary Vows, a candidate may request to make the Eternal Vows in poverty, chastity, and obedience. By making this commitment, the candidate pledges to adhere to these vows and remain in the Community for the entirety of his life.
Ordination
A professed member of our Community who has completed the requisite theological studies and has been deemed suitable may progress to the Diaconate and subsequently to the Priesthood. Ordination typically occurs after seven years of formation within the Community.

Requirements for Applicants
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Have completed high school or its equivalent.
- Be a practicing Roman Catholic, confirmed for at least three years.
- Have no financial obligations.
- Must provide proof of not having faced civil or ecclesiastical penalties.
- Must demonstrate the absence of severe or mental health issues.
- Should possess the ability for further development in the four pillars of formation: spiritual, human, intellectual, and pastoral.
