For nearly six decades (since 1963.), we, the Augustinian Canons of Windesheim, have been steadfast pastoral caregivers in Tor Lupara (near Rome). Our journey began in a humble abode that once served as a sheepfold, a testament to our enduring commitment to our mission.
With the generous support of many, we erected a monastery and a grand church in honor of Mary Queen. Tragically, a fire, sparked by unforeseen circumstances, ravaged the church before it could be consecrated. This devastating event not only shook our community to its core but also profoundly impacted the lives of the brothers and the financial stability of the monastery.
In May 2023, our brother, Don Olivier Deysine, passed away. He was the last superior of our monastery, Mary Queen. Superior Don Olivier had many ideas for revitalizing monastic life, which were unfortunately not realized during his lifetime.
United in our mission, the brothers from the monastery in St. Michael (Bavaria - Germany) have decided to continue the efforts of our late brother, Don Olivier Deysine, to bring the monastery back to life. Our situation is urgent. The destroyed church cannot be renovated, and the monastery is in a rather poor condition. We need your support to revive it and continue our mission.
